National Party leader Christopher Luxon has rejected any climate criticism his party has received over its transport policy.

National wants to spend about $25 billion dollars to build a suite of roads of national significance, as well as improving public transport in key centres.

This at the same time as Waka Kotahi, the Transport Agency, is tasked with reducing transport emissions by 41% by 2035.

So can National build massive motorways and expect emissions to fall?
