Bowel Cancer New Zealand is backing renewed calls for earlier screening for bowel cancer, amid escalating numbers of cases among people under 50.

Leading specialists have referred to an "avalanche of cases" in the latest Medical Journal, noting while bowel cancer rates overall are falling, they are increasing among younger people.
