Police Association 'disappointed' government backtracking on commitment for new officers

The president of the Police Association is disappointed the government is backtracking on its commitment to deliver 500 new frontline officers in two years.

In Parliament on Tuesday, Police Minister Mark Mitchell admitted they had pushed the deadline out to three years.

He said this decision came after advice there are significant challenges with recruiting.
