A weekly look at how many students are attending school will be published from next month with the Coalition planning to ramp it up to daily reporting at the start of next year.
The Ministry of Education will be tasked with publishing the weekly snapshots from the second week of term two.
RNZ understands the announcement will be made as part of the Attendance Action Plan in Wellington on Tuesday morning.
