Trans Am's new album 'Sex Change' was mostly recorded in Auckland. After their last album - the politically charged Liberation - Trans Am went their separate ways, their seventh long player a bitter farewell to their hometown, Washington DC. Keyboard/bass player Nathan Means settled down in Auckland to have a child and got a job, drummer Sebastian Thomson split his time between various bands in New York and London, while guitarist Phil Manley also played around, and worked as a sound engineer in San Francisco. Richard Wain spoke with Trans Am in Auckland, at the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand.
