Industry's increasing reliance on technology could worsen fierce competition for top specialist talent next year.

As part of its annual Salary Survey the recruitment company Robert Walter's has canvassed hiring managers from hundreds of firms in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch within its client base.

It found an increasing number of organisations embarking on digital transformation and risk management projects simultaneously, contributing to skills shortages.

So how do we build the digital economy?
