Since 1963 the National Surfing Championships have been held around New Zealand in spots like Mount Maunganui, Gisborne, Dunedin and Taranaki and on Sunday it will start at Piha west of Auckland The categories include juniors, open men's and women's, all the way through to the over-60s. Ben Kennings is the Chief Executive of Surfing New Zealand and says this year they've had more than 400 entries.
