Ihumatao land disupte hangs over government as year begins

From Summer Report, 8:48 am on 6 January 2020

The government will be expected to front up to Maori about progress over the land dispute at Ihumatao as two major Maori political events kick off the New Year.

MPs will flock to Ratana for the annual anniversary of the churches leader at the end of this month, and then on to Waitangi in early February.

Our Maori news director, Mani Dunlop, told Summer Report both events are a time for Maori to hold the government to account.
