Letter advising of care cuts "patronising" - daughter

From Summer Report, 8:25 am on 10 January 2020

An elderly Hawkes Bay woman who has mobility issues has been told "housework is a great way to maintain a good level of health" as she is informed she is no longer eligible for housework help by the DHB.

Her daughter says the letter was patronising and came out of the blue after her mother had received excellent service for years.

She's worried that other elderly people or those with disabilities won't have the support network to contest the decision.
