Political tit for tat not helping housing crisis - Garry Moore

From Summer Report, 8:11 am on 15 January 2020

Former mayor turned public housing spokesperson, Garry Moore, has slammed politicans for tit for tat points scoring on the housing crisis.

Recently released figures show the waitlist for public housing has hit a record high - reaching nearly 14,500 households.

National is blaming Labour's housing policies for the growing waitlist, but Labour says after nine years of neglect under National, it has delivered more than 3,000 state housing places since coming to power.

Garry Moore is a former mayor of Christchurch and chairs a group of executives in the community housing sector.

He told our reporter, Jonathan Mitchell, he's sick of the political points scoring over the housing crisis.
