As far as we know, Vivaldi didn’t write music for a complete mass. Instead we have in existence four separate movements: a Kyrie, two Glorias and a Credo. This particular Gloria, RV589, is the most well known of them.

Written for the church, yes ... but we can still hear elements of Vivaldi’s theatre music and of his concertos.
