Amulet for solo viola, by Australian composer Liza Lim in 1992.

An amulet is a talisman or charm object intended to bring good luck or protection to its owner. The piece is made up of a sliding, chanting music, sometimes with a folk-like quality.

Lim says she likes the idea of a viola being used to ward off evil or perhaps to attract a lover.
