From Upbeat, 1:00 pm on 21 November 2017

Acclaimed New Zealand choreographer Michael Parmenter is bringing the myth of Greek hero Orpheus alive with the New Zealand Dance Company. OrphEus explores the relationship between music and movement in personal and political environments. It is being developed for both New Zealand Festival and Auckland Arts Festival. Parmenter explains the creative process, what a “movement choir” is and how Australian baroque ensemble Latitude 37 and four opera singers are incorporated into the dance.
