The Cook Islands Marae Moana, a plan to manage the country's entire marine environment sustainably, is close to being put into operation.

Marae Moana marine park will allow commercial activity while at the same time considering conservation and environmental values.

One of the people behind the project from the start, Kevin Iro, told Don Wiseman that Marae Moana, which initially referred to the southern Cook Islands, has now got a whole lot bigger.
