Securing a job from Samoa a challenge under NZ quota

Finding a genuine permanent job offer in New Zealand to fulfil immigration requirements is proving too difficult for some Samoans.

Each year 1100 Samoans are accepted for the quota but many struggle with finding a job in New Zealand when they reside in Samoa.

Some people have been desperate enough to pay for bogus job offers from people here in New Zealand but on arrival are having to find an actual job.

Sara Vuitalitu reports.

New research finds scholarships and persistence are paying off in efforts to get more women in the Pacific into senior government jobs.
