Climate report warns of need for rapid, unprecedented change

From , 4:05 pm on 8 October 2018

A newly released comprehensive climate report warns that rapid far reaching and unprecedented changes are needed in all aspects of society to limit global warming.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change or IPCC says limiting warming to 1.5 degrees celsius compared to two degrees is necessary to ensure a more sustainable and equitable society.

Associate Professor Bronwyn Hayward from the University of Canterbury is one of the report's authors.

She told Jenny Meyer about her collaboration with Pacific climate researchers and how the region is sending a clear message to the rest of the world on the impact of global warming.
