A young Samoan climate activist is praising The United Nations after it set new guidelines for governments to protect the rights of children in the face of the deepening climate crisis.

It's the first time the UN Committee has specified to its 196 Member States that countries are responsible for not only protecting children's rights from immediate harm, but also for foreseeable violations of their rights in the future.

Eleisha Foon spoke with 17-year-old climate activist Aniva Clarke about what it means for the future of children around the world.
