A Pacific analyst says the new Vanuatu's Prime Minister's response to a death threat made online has been measured.
The Prime Minister's Office says Sato Kilman has personally advised the police commissioner to investigate.
Mr Kilman is also looking at ways to educate the public on how to use social media responsibly.
He stressed the importance of preserving freedom of speech while cautioning against its misuse.
