Life has improved for the people living on Kili Island in the Marshall Islands following a state of emergency being called.

Kili was without power and fuel because the previous local government administration bankrupted a trust fund that covered the islands expenses.

The new administration - sworn in December, called the state of emergency to free up money.

They have since sent fuel, food, and got the power station running again.
