A woman of Samoan and Māori heritage says Waitangi Day always stirs up emotions for her.
Valeria Gascoigne says growing up, she felt like she had three strikes against her; one for being a woman, a second for being Māori and a third for being Samoan.
But now she sees it as her triple threat or superpower.
She spoke with RNZ Pacific's Lydia Lewis.
