NZ's foreign and health minister lead delegation to Pacific

New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters and Dr Shane Reti, Minister for Health and Pacific Peoples are visiting three pacific nations this week.

They depart Tuesday night and return on Saturday 10 February flying to Tonga, Cook Islands, and then Samoa.

In December last year, Mr Peters said the government wanted to resume and renew the Pacific reset strategy with "greater intensity".

They will meet with the acting Prime Minister in Tonga, Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown, Samoa's Head of State Tuimaleali'ifano Va'aletoa Sualauvi II and Prime Minister Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa. 

Minister Reti will also meet with select health officials in each country to discuss New Zealand's role in delivering on long-term health goals. 

RNZ Pacific's Eleisha Foon is travelling alongside Mr Peters and Mr Reti.
