A motion of no confidence has been lodged against Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape .

This was announced at the first parliamentary session since the deadly riots in the capital and around the country last month.

Around 300 police personnel and 200 soldiers provided security at Papua New Guinea Parliament House for the sitting.
