A whole generation of native birds have been given a second chance at life thanks to a local eco-center in the Cook Islands.

Gale force winds of up to 90kmph caused by a recent string of cyclones knocked baby birds from their perches, leaving them helpless and at risk.

RNZ Pacific's Tiana Haxton reached out to Stephanie Jensen of the Discover Wildlife eco-center to hear what they are doing to save the poor chicks.
