'Intellectual giant' Prof Jim Flynn dies

Friends, family and colleagues are mourning the loss of University of Otago Emeritus Professor Jim Flynn who died this week aged 86. 

He is internationally-renowned as an expert on intelligence who coined the 'Flynn Effect', and he spoke about this subject for our expert segment in June this year and his Ted Talk on IQ has over 4 million views.

New Zealand Psychological Society director of scientific issues Brian Dixon said Prof Flynn was an "intellectual giant in psychology, a powerhouse of critical research and a prolific publisher".

Professor Jamin Halberstadt, Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Otago, speaks to Jesse about how the professor will be remembered.
