Reconnecting children with the great outdoors

Harry Scott's mission is to connect tamariki with nature in a way that stays with them through life.

After struggling with dyslexia through school, it was in nature that things made sense. In 2015 he starting working at the Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre and hasn't looked back.

Now he runs Barefooted NZ, programmes to get kids outside and stuck into the mud...learning about everything from fire-lighting to harakeke flax weaving. He speaks to Jesse.
