Auckland police are hunting for a man they describe as a sexual predator. They're appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old woman was abducted from a supermarket carpark, dragged into a van, driven away and sexually assaulted.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard said police are looking for 62-year-old Murray Edward Thomas Robertson following the incident in the New World, Mount Roskill carpark at 4pm on Friday.
They say Robertson was accompanied by another man who held the teenager down in the van.
They say there was a similar attack in the nearby suburb of Blockhouse Bay when a 29-year-old woman was dragged off the street on Sunday night and they are not ruling out the two attacks may be linked.
