Cautious optimism is the mood at New Zealand Football as they prepare to find out the fate of their joint bid with Australia to host the 2023 Women's World Cup.

At 4am Friday, either the trans-Tasman bid or Colombia will be confirmed by global governing body FIFA as the host of the tournament.

Both bids will be working until a few hours before the announcement making sure no stone is unturned - with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Australian counterpart Scott Morrison even roped in to help with the final push.

This afternoon New Zealand Football boss Andrew Pragnell told Clay Wilson there was plenty of anticipation for the decision.
