New Zealanders with families in Afghanistan are desperate to be reunited with their loved ones.
New Zealand is sending one of its Hercules aircraft and 40 Defence Force troops to help with a wider rescue operation after the Taliban took over all major Afghan cities, but Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern cannot guarantee when this will happen.
