From Checkpoint, 5:08 pm on 30 September 2021

There has not been a lot of good news in Aotearoa recently, but on Thursday the tiny King Country settlement of Marokopa welcomed news a family of four missing for 17 days are safe and well. 34-year old Thomas Phillips and his three children, Jayda 8, Maverick, 6 and Ember 5 went missing in mysterious circumstances on September 13.

And as Andrew McRae reports, a large search for them failed to find any sign until they walked into the family farmhouse this morning.

Taranaki reporter Robin Martin has been talking to people in the area. He joins Lisa Owen with the details.
