$1 Billion needed to fix Wellington's water infratructure - provider

Wellington Water says It's going to cost $1 billion a year over the next 10 years to fix the Wellington's crumbling water infrastructure.

In some parts of the region over 40 percent of water pipes are leaking.

And councils says they can't afford to fix the ageing infrastructure alone, and want reforms to ease the burden on local authorities.
