1News-Verian poll: Situation stable, Hipkins plummets

The 1News Verian poll shows National still holds 38 per cent of the party vote - while Labour has nudged up 1 point to 28 per cent. Support for ACT has dipped to 8 per cent while New Zealand First is steady on 6 per cent.

The Greens got a slight bump to 12 per cent and Te Paati Maori is up one point to 4 per cent.

Labour leader Chris Hipkins has taken a dive in the Preferred Prime Minister stakes, tumbling to 15 percent, while Christopher Luxon is on 25 percent. Also making an appearance in the preferred PM stakes is Green party leadership hopeful Chlöe Swarbrick, on four percent.
