Only 83% of NZ children up to date with vaccinations by age 2

The government is targeting childhood vaccinations with a goal of 95% of all children to be fully immunised by age 2.

Right now, only 83% of kiwi kids are up to date with their shots by age 2, lagging behind the UK, Australia & Canada.

The national immunisation schedule for under 2s includes, measles mumps and rubella, meningococcal B, chickenpox and boosters.

Health Minister Doctor Shane Reti says immunisation rates peaked about 10 years ago at 93%.
