The Prime Minister is today embarking on her first international trip in almost 800 days. She'll arrive in Singapore first, before travelling to Japan later this week.

Trade will be at the forefront of discussions. Japan and Singapore are already the country's fourth and fifth largest trading partners and the Government sees room to grow that further.

Export New Zealand Executive Director, Catherine Beard explains the significance of the trip to the NZ economy.
