AK needs another quarry to avoid regional aggregate shortage

Industry experts suggest Auckland is on track for another building material shortage due to a shortage of quarries in the region. Currently, one in six truckloads of quarried materials that come into the city are brought in from other regions. But if population and infrastructure spending continue to grow, Tamaki Makaurau will have to rely on the rest of the country to service most of its demand for aggrgegate. Nick Truebridge spoke with chief executive of Aggregate and Quarry Association Wayne Scott.
