The west Auckland MP Phil Twford has met with the son of a dairy owner killed in a botched robbery eight years ago, who wants to know what's changed since his dad's death. Arun Kumar died after being stabbed while working at the Railside Dairy in the Auckland suburb of Henderson back in 2014. The offenders, then aged 12 and 13, wanted cigarettes and cash from the till. Arun's son, Shivneel Kumar, wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister and Justice Minister saying he's horrified that history has repeated itself with the fatal stabbing of dairy worker Janak Patel last month. Shivneel says Janak's death is "a stark reminder that not enough action has been taken to prevent this again" ... Phil Twyford was the MP for Arun Kumar's electorate when he was killed in 2014, and remains the area's parliamentary representative today.
