Sad indictment on govt recinding progressive Maori policies
To politics, and Public Service Minister Nicola Willis has walked back comments she made about stopping extra pay for public servants who are fluent in te reo Maori. It's been a tumultuous start for the new government - with loud criticism at its plan to scrap smokefree laws, and protests over its stance on treaty policies. Usually Labour deputy leader Carmel Sepuloni is here for the weekly catch-up, but unfortunately she has Covid - so up bright 'n early to join us today is Labour MP and Shadow Leader of the House - Kieran McAnulty!
