March 15 cricket team helps survivors cope with tragedy

From First Up, 5:52 am on 13 March 2024

Friday marks five years since the mosque attacks in Christchurch, and we're sharing survivors' stories of healing from the terror that shook their lives. One of those survivors is Yasir Amin. His father Mohammad Amin was shot in the back, as both of them were walking to Al-Noor mosque. Mohammad survived and has recovered. Both Yasir and his Dad found a way to help cope with the tragedy, which was getting involved with the Christchurch 'Cornered Tigers' Cricket Club. The team was formed just months after March 15 by another survivor, for those affected by the attacks. Yasir is the current captain. He told Nathan Rarere how his father is doing now.
