10:35 Science-led animal welfare group changing activism

There's a new animal welfare group on the scene but this time it's advocacy based on science. Veterinarian Dr Helen Beattie was previously chief veterinary officer at the New Zealand Veterinary Association but has since left and launched Veterinarians for Animal Welfare Aotearoa. The start-up aims to provide science-based animal welfare advocacy to help create better lives for animals using knowledge and expertise.
