10:17 Government wants renters' input on regulating property managers

New regulations are about to come in for property managers that it's hoped will make it easier for people who are renting to complain if their property isn't up to scratch. The Government's proposing measures that will ensure property managers have to operate by a code of conduct, with compulsory training. The Associate Minister of Housing, Poto Williams, has released a discussion document for the industry to consider. Leanne Tautari from Rent South in Invercargill talks to Karyn about her industry.

10:25 Napier-Taupo highway speed drops to 80km on Friday

There's continued opposition to Waka Kotahi's plan to drop the speed limit on Friday down from 100kms to 80kms on a large stretch of the Napier to Taupo highway, to cut the number of fatal crashes. The Hawke's Bay Regional Transport Committee opposes the speed limit change and wants to see a cost benefit analysis for the decision. Its chairperson, Martin Williams, has the latest on Waka Kotahi's rationale.

10:30 Questions swirl around Duke of York's settlement with Virginia Giuffre

Prince Andrew has reached an out of court  settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him in a lawsuit of sexually abusing her more than two decades ago when she was 17.  Ms Giuffre sued the Duke of York last August, alleging he assaulted her while the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was trafficking her.
In a joint-court-filing, lawyers for the two parties say the settlement includes an undisclosed sum. The Prince intends to make a substantial donation to Ms Giuffre's charity in support of victims' rights.  The filing says Prince Andrew accepts Ms Guiffre has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.
