Wellington is moving ahead with plans to ban cars from the central shopping district. The Golden Mile - Lambton Quay, Manners Street, Willis Street and Courtenay Place - will only be open to buses, cyclists and pedestrians. Construction is expected to take two years - starting in late 2022 - and cost up to $80 million. Siobhan Procter is the project director for Let's Get Wellington Moving.
