The Government is imposing new trade sanctions against Russia, in what it says is its most significant economic response against the Ukraine invasion to date.

The Government will apply 35 percent tariffs to all imports from Russia, and extend export bans on certain industrial products that could aid its war machine.

Political pressure is mounting to send a stronger message to Russia, following numerous reports of war crimes against Ukrainian civilians.
