Getting elected with Sue Kedgley

From Lately, 10:27 pm on 21 June 2022

Sue Kedgley is a name many of us recognise for her work as a politician for the Green Party and Labour. She's also an author, having written on the feminist movement in New Zealand and, more recently, published her autobiography "Fifty Years a Feminist". Sue has stood for election herself at least 19 times for various roles on city and regional councils, for parliament and DHBs.

Earlier tonight the Wellington Branch of the National Council of Women New Zealand hosted a panel at Victoria University titled "Let's Get Elected" aimed at getting more women involved in key roles. Sue Kedgley was one of four women discussing their experiences and the challenges involved. Sue spoke to Karyn about her election experiences.

Sue Kedgley is an activist and feminist who was a leader the Woman's Liberation movement in Auckland, New Zealand during the 70's and is still active today.
