Lake Alice Psychiatric Hospital tortured kids, Commission told

The Abuse in Care inquiry has been told that electric shock treatment given to children at Lake Alice Psychiatric Hospital in the 1970s was akin to torture. Electroconvulsive therapy - or ECT - was used on children who had no psychiatric illnesses as a means of controlling them while in the hospital's child and adolescent unit. RNZ reporter Andrew McRae speaks to Max Towle from Auckland.
