Births delayed without pain-relief at Auckland Hospital

From Morning Report, 7:24 am on 18 October 2017

A woman who gave birth at Auckland City Hospital earlier this year says chronic staff shortages are leading to a lack of adequate care. She says the birth was delayed by a day because there were not enough midwives, she had to wait hours for pain relief, and staff seemed to be over-worked. The hospital says it offers excellent care but the College of Midwives says it is not a one-off case and the hospital struggles to keep staff.
