National slams Tracey Martin's role in Wally Haumaha inquiry

From Morning Report, 6:45 am on 3 July 2018

National's crying foul after the Internal Affairs Minister and New Zealand First MP Tracey Martin was picked to oversee an inquiry into the appointment of the Deputy Police Commissioner Wally Haumaha. The party says it's a conflict of interest, given Mr Haumaha was a New Zealand First candidate in 2005. His appointment to the senior police job is being scrutinised following revelations he spoke up for three fellow officers accused of raping Louise Nicholas in the 1990s.
