Bella Vista homeowners 'heartbroken' by compensation offer

Former residents of a botched housing development in Tauranga have described a compensation offer as 'heatbreaking', saying it locks them out of buying another home in the city's overheated market. The Tauranga City Council signed off on the Bella Vista development despite major construction defects and the residents were forced to abandon their homes in March. Yesterday the council finally came back with an offer of compensation.
