National Party conference - political analysis

From Morning Report, 8:15 am on 30 July 2018

It was back to the future for National's Simon Bridges at the weekend with the key focus on education policies some say were recycled from ACT and the Labour Party. Mr Bridges delivered his first major conference speech as leader, in which he promised more primary teachers and smaller class sizes under a National government. The day before he pledged to not only bring back the charter school model but expand it even further. Mr Bridges says as a new leader it's his prerogative to take a fresh look at policy - whatever its origin. RNZ political editor Jane Patterson was at the conference in Auckland. She talks to Guyon Espiner.
