Remains of dozens of NZ soldiers on their way home

From Morning Report, 7:41 am on 21 August 2018

The remains of dozens of New Zealand soldiers are finally making their way back home. The repatriation is part of the Defence Force's Te Auraki, or The Return project. An Air New Zealand charter flight carrying the remains of 27 soldiers and one dependent child is due to arrive at Auckland Airport at 10am. The soldiers died while serving in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. Yesterday a ceremony took place in Kuala Lumpur to farewell the soldiers buried in Singapore and Malaysia - the largest repatriation of the project. RNZ reporter Nita Blake-Persen attended the ceremony and filed this report.
