Otago bong confiscation a 'dangerous precedent' - Smythe

From Morning Report, 7:50 am on 25 September 2018

Otago University students are planning to protest after the university's proctor walked into a student flat without permission and confiscated bongs used for smoking cannabis. The university refused to be interviewed this morning but in a statement it says the proctor, former police officer Dave Scott, was acting in the best interests of the students. It says Mr. Scott is focussed on helping students gain degrees and not criminal convictions. Josh Smythe is the Otago University Student Association's recreation officer and is organising the protest.
