Canterbury shooting, police officer injured - latest update

A man has been shot dead by police in the Canterbury town of Darfield after he drove into an officer seriously injuring his leg. Police were called to house in Bangor Road just after 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon following reports a man was threatening a family member with a gun. Local resident Lindsay Johnston says it's alarming that a shooting in the community has left a man dead and a police officer in hospital.
